About Fido Finishing School

Fido Finishing School teaches pet obedience, competition obedience and agility on the Northshore. Obedience classes meet in the evenings in Mandeville and run from a puppy preschool for dogs under five months, through two levels of family pet class, to a competition class covering attention heeling, retrieves, scent discrimination and hand signals. The second family pet class follows the AKC Canine Good Citizen program.

Agility is taught in group classes on Sundays at a private site near Abita Springs, at fundamentals, intermediate and advanced levels, for owners who want to compete and those who just want an activity with their dog. Private lessons are available for both obedience and agility. The instructor, Julie Hill, teaches full time and has competed in obedience since 1991 and agility since 1996.
