Privacy policy

Louisiana Pet Services runs louisianapetservices.com, a directory that connects Louisiana pet owners with local pet service businesses. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• Quote requests. When you ask a business for a quote, we collect what you type: your name, email or phone, city or parish, pet, and message. We send it to the business you chose so they can reply, and we keep a copy to confirm the referral.
• Clicks and views. When you click through to a business's website, we record the click (which business, from which page, and when). We also count page views and how often listings are shown. To do that without cookies, your browser keeps a random number for the tab you have open; we store only a scrambled version of it that changes every day, so it can't follow you from one day to the next. These records aren't tied to your name.
• Partner and team accounts. Partner businesses and our team sign in with Google or Apple. We receive your name, your email address, and an account identifier. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we receive a relay address instead. We never see your Google or Apple password.
• Technical data. Our hosting provider, Amazon Web Services, logs IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested, which we use for security and troubleshooting.
• Maps. When you open a map, it loads from Google Maps, and Google receives your IP address under Google's privacy policy.

Cookies

We only use cookies the site needs to work: a sign-in cookie for partners and our team, and a short-lived cookie that protects the sign-in process. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.

How we use it

• To pass your request to the business you chose.
• To track referrals and bill partner businesses for the customers we send them.
• To run, secure and improve the site.

Email we send

• If you ask for a quote and give an email address, we send you one copy of your request. We don't add you to a mailing list.
• If your business is listed. We build listings from a business's own website and other public information, and we may email the address the business publishes there: to pass on a customer's quote request, to tell you how the listing is doing (at most once every three months), or to send a code when someone claims the listing. You can stop these emails, or take the listing down, at any time from the "Correct or remove" link on your listing or by replying "stop".
• If you manage a listing, we email you about that listing: quote requests, questions about its details, and answers to what you ask us for.

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the business you contact and with the service providers that run the site for us (such as Amazon Web Services), who may use it only to provide that service.

How long we keep it

We keep quote requests and click records for as long as we need them for referrals, billing and our business records. We keep account details while the account is active.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct or delete your personal information by emailing accounts@louisianapetservices.com. If you signed in with Google or Apple, you can also remove our access from your Google or Apple account settings.

Children

The site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
