The Louisiana Capital City Obedience Club is a non-profit AKC dog club founded in Baton Rouge in 1963. Its volunteer instructors teach six-week group classes for owners and their dogs: puppy kindergarten, beginner and advanced beginner obedience, rally and Canine Good Citizen preparation.
Obedience classes meet outdoors on Thursday evenings in the Capital Area Red Cross parking lot on Sherwood Commons Boulevard. The club also runs agility classes on its own field on Plank Road in Baker, plus scent work and tracking classes. You don't have to be a member or have an AKC-registered dog to enroll; advanced classes are for members only.
