About Homeward Bound Services

Homeward Bound Services is a family-run pet care business that has worked in the New Orleans area for more than 15 years. It lists New Orleans, Metairie, Kenner, Harahan, River Ridge and Jefferson as its service areas.

Sitters visit pets at home for 30, 45 or 60 minutes to feed, clean up and play, and bring in mail and take out trash while they are there. Longer visits and overnight stays in the customer's home are available. They sit for dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small pets. Dog walks run in morning, afternoon and evening windows, with a report and photos after each visit.

Dogs can also board cage-free, by the day or overnight, with flexible drop-off and pickup times. Training covers obedience and behavior modification in private or group sessions, and there is a board and train option. The business also offers a pet taxi, pet care during hotel stays and help including pets in weddings and other events.

New clients need at least 48 hours' notice, and 7 to 10 days around major holidays.
